Sheila Boyce

Sheila studied 3D Design, Ceramics and Glass at De Montfort University, Leicester. She produces hand-built, burnished and smoke-fired ceramic forms. These forms and the surface decoration are inspired by images of rocks, tide patterns and debris found on the beach. Sheila uses burnishing and smoke-firing to give a smoother and softer feel than that achieved with a glaze, one of her prime aims being to create forms which invite one to feel and touch. Her work is sought after and much collected.
